AND NOW, THE EMAILS!

Gary - though i was never an ABBA fan, i thoroughly enjoyed "mamma mia". the female leads did a fantastic job, especially meryl streep whose voice i discovered at the end of "postcards from the edge". colin firth's singing was adequate. there's been a lot of criticism about pierce brosnan's singing but could rex harrison or robert preston really sing? i actually enjoyed the contrast in voices when brosnan and streep sang "SOS". Sincerely, Sam in Huntington Beach

Gary.. Mama Mia I'm with you on this one Gary. I am 57 and I saw it yesterday and was not impressed. The scenes of Donna (Mother) as a teenage hippie would have made more sense if it had been rock music instead of Abba music. The Abba music would have played better if Donna had been into disco in her youth. Plus the time line was off. The daughter was 20 which means she was born in 88 way after the rock and disco era.-Annette in Stanton

In ref. to MAMMA MIA, I am 54 years young and do not consider myself middle aged, but then again I could be 150 years old and still refusing to be referred to as middle or senior aged. I am also quite single and consider myself a bachelor or bachelorette (not a spinster). I saw the premiere of MAMMA MIA last month with a coworker and everyone in the audience loved it. The actors were not chosen for their singing abilities and I actually enjoyed their singing more because they were more human when they sang and not a polished professional singer. Plus as an actor, they brought more meaning into the words of the song. The movie had high energy, was hysterically funny and was a great joy to watch. I felt like I was on a great fun ride and felt throughally refreshed when I left the theater. I really get tired of the younger generation stating that they don't want to see the older actors on the movies. I get tired of seeing the kids on the screen. Meryl Streep was wonderful and a great role model for the older generation women. It reminded me that I need to go out an truly enjoy myself and to hell what people think. As far as Pierce B., I enjoyed his singing and I throughly enjoyed his chest view (thankyou very much). I really get tired of people trashing this movie. I LOVED IT and plan to see it again, get the CD and DVD when it is available. SO THERE!! MR MOVIEPHONE needs better tastes. Still your fan, Lou Ann in Toluca Lake

Enjoy the movie… the scenery is great! See you Monday… and don’t forget: Don Felder, formerly of the Eagles, will play in studio on Wednesday at 8am!
