1. How to Enter the Contest:
a. The ‘Tax Relief’ contest (the “Contest”) will be played on Tuesday April 15th 2008, between 6:00AM Pacific Time (“PT”) and 11:59PM PT (the “Contest Period”).
b. To participate in the contest, there is one way to enter:
Enter by Listening: contestants must listen to K-EARTH 101 during the Contest Period. Each hour, K-EARTH 101 will solicit for listeners to call 1-800-232-KRTH. There will be a specific cue to call with a caller number to be announced each hour during the Contest Period.
The correct number caller that is received on the line will be selected to play, pending verification of eligibility. At the time of their call, each caller will be required to provide their first and last name, complete address including zip code, telephone number, and date of birth.
The on-air personality will ask the contestant to choose one of three (3) envelopes. The envelopes are numbered 1, 2 and 3 prior to each hour’s game. Each envelope will contain a monetary value of $20, $50, or $100 dollars. (Envelope values are entered at random prior to each game). Once the contestant selects an envelope number, the on air personality will then open that number envelope and announce the value of the money won.
If the contestant is a registered K-EARTH 101 All Access Member at the time of play they are automatically qualified for our Grand Prize drawing for $500. To be entered into the Grand Prize drawing, you must be a Qualifying Prize Winner AND be a registered K-EARTH 101 All Access Member. The Grand Prize Winner will be announced Wednesday Morning April 16th, 2008 at approximately 8:30am PT.
To become an All Access Member, (free of charge), you must complete a registration form by clicking on “Join Today!” located in the right column on the K-EARTH 101 Website (http://www.mykearth101.com/). Enter your first name and last name, complete address, city, state, zip code, home telephone number and a valid email address in the registration form. Only one Internet entry per person and one Internet entry per email address is permitted. The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to the email address by an internet access provider, online service provider or other organization that is responsible by assigning email addresses or the domain associated with the submitted email address. The Station is not responsible for registration not received due to difficulty accessing the Internet, service outage or delays, computer difficulties or other technological glitches.
Each hour during the Contest Period the Station will replace the previously opened number envelope with another randomly selected value. The Contest will continue as mentioned above each hour during the Contest Period until the Contest Period has ended.
K-EARTH 101 is not responsible for telephone service outages, delays, busy signals, equipment malfunctions and any other technological difficulties that may prevent an individual from completing his/her telephone call.
c. Participants may call as often as they wish, but may only win once. Limit one winner per household.
2. Eligibility Restrictions:
a. The contest is open to all K-EARTH 101 listeners who are 18 years of age or older at the date and time contest is played, legal U.S. residents, and who reside in the following Counties: Los Angeles, Orange County, San Bernardino, Riverside, San Diego and Ventura. Employees of K-EARTH 101 (the “Station”), its licensee, its Parent Corporation, subsidiaries and affiliates, their advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, other radio stations in the Los Angeles, Orange County, San Bernardino, Riverside, San Diego and Ventura metropolitan areas and the members of their immediate families are ineligible to participate or win.
b. Only one winner per household is permitted in any contest.
c. Listeners are eligible to win a K-EARTH 101 contest with a prize value of $599 or less only once every sixty days and a prize valued at $600.00 or more only once every six months.
3. Prize:
a. A total of eighteen (18) Qualifying Prizes will be awarded. Each Qualifying Prize will vary in values of $20, $50 or $100. (Once contestant has completed the required paperwork, prize will be issued as a check to the winner’s name).
b. Grand Prize: One (1) Grand Prize winner will be selected in a random drawing from all Qualifying Prize winners who were registered K-EARTH 101 All Access members at the time they win their Qualifying Prize. The Grand Prize winner will be announced on air at approximately 8:30am on Wednesday April 16th, 2008. Prize is $500. (Once grand prize winner has completed the required paperwork, the prize will be issued as a check to the winner’s name for the total value of what they won during the Contest including the Grand Prize).
c. There is no substitution or transfer of prizes. The prizes are expressly limited to the item listed above and do not include taxes. Other restrictions may apply.
4. Selection of Winners:
a. Decisions of Station management with respect to the contest are final.
b. Winners will be selected as per section 1.b. of these Official Rules.
c. Winners need not be present, but Winners need to listen to win.
d. Odds of winning a Qualifying Prize depend upon the number and timing of calls received. Odds of winning the Grand Prize depend upon the total number of All Access Members who win.
e. [DESCRIBE WINNER NOTIFICATION PROCEDURES FOR THE GRAND PRIZE WINNER. IF APPLICABLE, INSERT: Grand Prize winner will be announced on-air Wednesday April 16th at approximately 8:30am PT. Promotions will then contact Grand Prize winner to complete the reward process. “Winners must execute and return any required Affidavit of Eligibility and/or Release of Liability Prize Acceptance Form within thirty (30) days of notification attempt or prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will not be chosen.”
5. Conditions:
a. Payments of all federal, state and local taxes will be the sole responsibility of the winner. Winners may be required to sign an IRS Form W-9 or the equivalent.
b. By participating in the contest, participants and winners agree to have their name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without additional notification or compensation (financial or otherwise). The winner or winners (and their guest or traveling companion, if any) agree to sign a publicity release authorizing the same prior to acceptance of a prize.
c. Prior to awarding any prize or prize certificate, K-EARTH 101 in its sole discretion may require contest winners to sign a liability release, agreeing to hold K-EARTH 101, its corporate licensee, its parent, subsidiary and affiliated corporations, and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or participation in the contest.
d. K-EARTH 101 reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the contest, including the substitution of a prize or prizes of equivalent or greater value, which will become effective upon announcement.
e. Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant’s disqualification, at the sole discretion of K-EARTH 101.
f. K-EARTH 101 is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest or in the announcement of a prize.
g. Copies of the written contest rules and a list of all winners are available during regular business hours at the main studio of K-EARTH 101, 5670 Wilshire Boulevard, Suite 200, Los Angeles, CA 90036, or by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to K-EARTH 101.
