I’m finally getting caught up here during a holiday shortened week.
How I spent my Labor Day weekend
First off I took a vacation day Friday going into the weekend, my friend Gene Vano who manages a couple of singing groups, and is a travel agent by trade arranging flights for performers, got us a steal of a deal at the Ojai Valley Inn and Country Club for a round of golf at a bargain price.
Ojai is truly a nice getaway place. However, being hard core golfers we just drove up for the day. Gene put together a tournament made up of members of the Sepulveda and Simi Hills Men’s club. Afterwards, walking around the grounds and visiting the restaurant/bar I couldn’t help but notice all of the hotel guests “being fabulous.”
Saturday I attended a charity chili cook-off in Castaic, and Sunday my friend, Don, found a deal at the Pete Dye designed nightmare known as Lost Canyons, so we tee’d it up again, keeping a wary eye out for Rattle Snakes, since the area is their home turf. There has been one documented man being bit by snake occurrence when a golfer wandered off the fairway to look for his $ 1.50 golf ball. He said it felt like a two by four with two nails hit him in the calf. (Ouch!)
You’ll notice that I’m into deals.
Monday, I had the fun of playing part of the Z to A weekend. Thank you for the overwhelming response. We aired out the music library!
