I don’t know how it was where you live, but Saturday I had about a seven hour window between rain showers. Or downpour was more like it.
I kept looking out, starting at about nine in the morning, by noon the streets had pretty much dried out. So I aired up my bike tires. My bike guru, Dave from my local bike shop, schooled me on -- saying it’s necessary. Do it twice a week to help prevent flats and keep performance where it should be.
Anyway, what I’m leading up to is, I went out for a nice hour ride which broke up the cabin fever that was setting in. Mother Nature did a great job; the “Bike Lanes” were almost devoid of the usual broken fragments of glass, and other debris that has a way of building up close to the curb.
On one of my routine routes where I’ve noticed a broken bottle or tire balancing weights and other junk in the lane to be aware of and avoid, I was pleasantly surprised to find those areas washed clean.
