Last weekend was pretty much a wash out. I did manage a bike ride Saturday between the showers. Some might say, “What? You let a little rain get in the way?”
Especially if you were one of those cycle faithful who congregated at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena for the Tour of California finish, in the rain. I was a little surprised since because I like cycling, not everyone is into cycling. But watching the entire tour on the Versus cable channel, a lot of people turned out; whether it was Sacramento, San Luis Obispo, Santa Clarita, or the finish line in historic Pasadena.
The cyclists certainly proved their endurance. Especially the leg of the race from Seaside to San Luis Obispo, in freezing rain, on wet slippery Highway 1. If anything it was inspiring to me. Watching it made me want to get out and ride. But not enough to make me wanna ride in the rain. We have to many nice days here in Southern California -- call me a wimp!
