I had the best of intentions this past weekend for riding my bicycle and playing golf. I got the golf part in (more on that coming up) but awoke Saturday morning to thirty plus mile an hour wind.

You hard core cyclists might be saying to yourself, this guy is a wimp, “I ride in thirty mile an hour wind!”

Well I didn’t, I caved in to the elements.

I did however take my chances in the wind with golf on Sunday, and what do you think... I played better in those thirty mile an hour gusts than on some days in benign conditions.

But that’s golf for you, it’s anyone’s guess as to which game shows up on any given day. That 87 looked good on the scorecard considering Mother Nature was not in my favor. As for the bike ride, Bob Seger had a great hit called “Against the Wind.”
