K-EARTH 101 afternoon drive time personality (4pm – 8pm) “Shotgun Tom” Kelly won the 2007 Radio and Records Industry Achievement Awards Classic Hits Personality/Show of the Year; it was announced today by the highly-respected trade journal.
“Shotgun Tom” is celebrating his tenth year with the CBS Radio Los Angeles station, K-EARTH 101. He was a top-rated personality on the legendary San Diego Top 40 station KCBQ in the 1970’s. His voice is heard on many radio and television commercials across the country. He is known for his distinctive voice and enthusiastic presentation, “Shotgun” is also a radio fan, with a segment of a radio tower in his back yard, broadcast equipment for defunct radio stations, and even a real porthole studio door from an LA radio station on his home recording studio.
“I’m just overwhelmed and so honored to be singled out by my peers,” said “Shotgun Tom” Kelly. “I am so grateful to be doing this everyday for the people of Southern California.”
K-EARTH 101 Program Director, Jhani Kaye congratulated Kelly, noting,” K-EARTH 101 has been the home of many legendary personalities, including Robert W.
