1. How to Enter the Contest:
a. The ‘Generation Gap’ contest (the “Contest”) is played one time per day each weekday morning at 7:30 am Pacific Time (“PT”) starting on Monday, March 17, 2008, and ending on Friday, March 21, 2008 (the “Contest Period”).
b. To participate in the contest, there is one way to enter:
Enter by Listening: Contestants must listen to K-EARTH 101 at the time listed above each weekday morning during the Contest Period. K-EARTH 101 will solicit a designated number caller. Listeners must call 1-800-232-KRTH when solicited during the above mentioned time for a chance to play the ‘Generation Gap.’ There will be a designated caller number determined daily by K-EARTH 101 Morning Show. If there is a qualified duo for the correct number caller after solicitation, this duo will get to play the game.
A qualified duo is the correct designated number caller with one other person on the phone with them. One person must be under the age of 18 and the second person must be the first person’s parent, grandparent, or legal guardian that is over the age of 18.
The on-air personality will ask the person under the age of 18 to pick which option is the correct name of a band. The child will get to choose from between 2 options. The child will have to get 2 out of the 3 questions right to win. If the child does not get 2 out of 3 questions right, a new duo will be selected via a correct designated number caller.
The child can accept help from the parent, grand parent, legal guardian that is with them while they play.
K-EARTH 101 is not responsible for telephone service outages, delays, busy signals, equipment malfunctions and any other technological difficulties that may prevent an individual from completing his/her telephone call.
c. Participants may call as often as they wish, but may only win once during the Contest. Limit one winner per household.
2. Eligibility Restrictions:
a. The Contest is open to all K-EARTH 101 (the “Station”) listeners who are 18 years of age or older at the date and time the Contest is played, legal U.S. residents, and who reside in the following Counties: Los Angeles, Orange County, San Bernardino, Riverside, San Diego and Ventura. Employees of K-EARTH 101, its licensee, its parent corporation, subsidiaries and affiliates, their advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, other radio stations in the Los Angeles, Orange County, San Bernardino, Riverside, San Diego and Ventura metropolitan areas and the members of their immediate families are ineligible to participate or win.
b. Listeners are eligible to win a K-EARTH 101 contest with a prize value of up to $599 only once every sixty days. Any contest won with a prize valued at $600.00 or more, the listener is eligible to win again after six months.
3. Prize:
a. Five (5) prizes will be awarded during the Contest. Each prize is a family 4-pack of tickets to Disney's Narnia Prince Caspian and Baskin Robbins ice cream. Approximate Retail Value of each prize: $125.
b. Should the prize winner not be able to accept the prize, an alternate winner will not be chosen.
c. All prizes or prize certificates may be picked up at the office of the Station at the address below. The winner will forfeit any prize or prize certificate not claimed within forty-five (45) days of winning. In the event that a prize or prize certificate is mailed to the winner, it will be with the prior written consent of the winner and therefore, winner assumes the risk of its loss. The Station is not responsible for the safe arrival of a prize or prize certificate.
d. There is no substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent for prizes, except that Sponsor may, at its sole discretion, substitute prizes of comparable value or cash. The prizes are expressly limited to the item(s) listed above and do not include taxes, gratuities or any other expenses. Other restrictions may apply.
4. Selection of Winners:
a. Decisions of station management with respect to the contest are final.
b. Five (5) winners will be selected during the Contest. One (1) winner will be selected each weekday during the Contest Period as described in section 1.b. of these Official Rules.
c. Winners need not be present, but Winners need to listen to win.
d. Odds of winning a Prize depend upon the number and timing of calls received.
5. Conditions:
a. Payment of all federal, state and local taxes will be the sole responsibility of the winner. Winners may be required to sign an IRS Form W-9 or the equivalent.
b. By participating in the contest, participants and winners agree to have their name, voice, or likeness used by K-EARTH 101 in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without additional notification or compensation (financial or otherwise). The winner or winners (and their guest or traveling companion, if any) agree to sign a publicity release authorizing the same prior to acceptance of a prize.
c. Prior to awarding any prize or prize certificate, K-EARTH 101 in its sole discretion may require contest winners to sign a liability release, agreeing to hold K-EARTH 101, their corporate licensee, their parent, subsidiary and affiliated corporations, and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or participation in the contest.
d. K-EARTH 101 reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the contest, including the substitution of a prize or prizes of equivalent or greater value, which will become effective upon announcement.
e. Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant’s disqualification, at the sole discretion of K-EARTH 101.
f. K-EARTH 101 is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest or in the announcement of a prize.
g. Copies of the written contest rules and a list of all winners are available during regular business hours at the main studio of K-EARTH 101, 5670 Wilshire Boulevard, Suite 200, Los Angeles, CA 90036, or by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to K-EARTH 101.
