I had the pleasure of seeing Elvis perform at the "Swing Auditorium" on the Orange Show Grounds in San Bernardino. I was about ten rows back, a perfect perspective! The year was 1972 or 1973, and I'd never been to a "King of Rock and Roll" concert.
As we were all waiting for him to be announced and make his grand entrance on stage, you could feel the excitement and anticipation throughout the crowd.
"Ladies and Gentlemen,
the King of Rock and Roll!!!"
Elvis came on from stage left, wearing his signature white sequenced "jumpsuit" and there "he" was. Finally, after all of the years of headlines, hit records and world-wide adulation, there he was in the flesh standing right in front of us, centerstage.
I actually found myself getting a bit lightheaded in awe of his impossible universal fame. He put on a fabulous show, giving it his "all"....
He was and still is "The King... of Rock and Roll..."
