SO… HOW DO THEY DETERMINE HOW MUCH THEY’RE GOING TO CHARGE FOR A GALLON OF GAS???

(The answer: NOBODY REALLY KNOWS!!!)

Jerry from San Diego told us this morning that they input the data (price of crude, type of crude, etc., etc.) into a computer program and it spits out the price of gas each day.

Then, someone who owns gas stations told us that they charge different prices in different communities, according to how much the market will bear. We’ve all seen that.

AND THERE ARE OIL TANKERS SITTING OFF THE COAST, WAITING FOR THE PRICES TO GO UP, WHICH WILL MAKE THEIR CARGO A LOT MORE VALUABLE!

And this email!

Gary, I didn't catch this until you were already off the air Monday morning, but here is a link (if it works) to, "How Gas Prices Work" with an interesting video toward the bottom of the page. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/gas-price.htm See, we do listen to you!! LOL Great show! I enjoy listening to you and crew every morning.-Mark in Lomita

HOW ABOUT THIS ONE!

I know how you like to hear from those of us listening across the globe, so hellooo from Hyderabad, India. I'm here on a one week assignment from Lake Forest, CA., thought I'd tune in thru the web and listen to some GOOD music this afternoon (Monday @ 4PM), I'll be listening most of the evening, we're 12.5 hours ahead of So. Cal. It's great to be able to take K-EARTH along with me. Stan FROM Oceanside in India!

AND THIS STORY FROM OUR “FICKLE FINGER FILE!”
Bees Win!

An Alabama man said he was only trying to get rid of some bees when he poured gasoline on them and caused his shed to burst into flames. Joshua Mullen ended up with $80,000 in damages to his property. "There were no injuries, unless you count the bees," said Mobile Fire-Rescue spokesman Steve Huffman. Huffman said the blaze was put out quickly and likely began when the water heater pilot light kicked on and caught the gas fumes on fire. Mullen said he was able to get his fiancé and 1-year-old daughter out of danger before the blaze moved to the house.

"Looking at all this, there might have been a better way. It was a mistake. I wish I hadn't done it, but I did," he said.

****You know this wasn’t going to end well from the first 3 words in this story: “An Alabama Man….”

FINAL SCORE: BEES, $80,000… HUMANS, 0!

***This guy sting himself!

See you tomorrow for Tumultuous Tuesday! GB
