It’s always good to welcome a R&R legend, and this morning we got to do just that when Gary Lewis, of Gary Lewis and the Playboys, stopped by! Full disclosure: Gary’s broter Chris is a very good friend of mine, and he gave me the following tidbits on his big brother:

1. Gary was the Speed Racer champion of the San Fernando Valley in his purple Shelby Mustang GT500! (And still very proud of it!)
2. Gary lived in the pool house in Brentwood when he was a kid, and had band practice there. The Lewis’ neighbor, Robert Stack, popped over frequently to complain!
3. Gary’s gourmet specialty is “partially baked brownies!” Here’s the key: If the recipe says “Bake for 30 minutes,” bake ‘em for 25 minutes!

Love your show, never miss it, but both you and Lisa are wrong about Jason. Happiness and dreads don't necessarily mean "stoner." What about David Cooks "gun shot" hair do?-Shelley in Redondo Beach

We hate that, too!!!! By the way, it’s not just the dreadlocks… it’s the fact that he always seemed stoned!!

Y'all make me feel as if I am still in Los Angeles (born & raised there). Love your show. I think my old office, Ed Paster & Son Plumbing, still listens to you. When I was there they did not have a choice. My new office, Corley Plumbing & Electric in Greenville, SC has no choice either. They all seem to know all the words even though they are all quite a bit younger than me. Would you please tell Jhani Kaye that I appreciate his choices in music.
